| 2026-10-09 | Model v1.0.1. Correction: the planner failed to load a report for very large or very leaky garages, and for some garages where a gas or diesel heater was the top pick. The “Power it” circuit now matches the electric heaters the report recommends, one circuit per heater. If no recommended electric heater covers the whole load, it shows the heater sizes we model (4, 5, 7.5 or 10 kW) that do, as many as it takes. If you said you can't add a circuit and yours can't carry one, it now says so. Circuit corrections shipped with it. A 4 kW heater needs a 25 A breaker, so not a 20 A circuit. A 240 V infrared heater needs 35 A, so not a 30 A circuit. Plug-in heaters show the 15 A circuit they may share with nothing else, and mini-splits show their nameplate circuit. The planner no longer suggests a second heater when you can't add a circuit. Heat loads did not change. |
| 2026-10-09 | Model v1.0.2. Corrections from a fact-check of our live pages. No gas unit heater is the pick for a shop with solvent vapor: the Modine and Mr. Heater manuals rule out a flammable atmosphere. Can I Run It? now gives a vented gas heater with no listing mark a no-go. Price dates now name the period each price covers. Natural gas is the 2025 annual average. Propane is the last reading of last winter, March 30, 2026. The CO alarm line now separates the house code from BayHeat's own garage advice. Product cards gained lines from their manuals: the CZ220's combustible-dust limit, and attended-use rules for the CZ798 and DR-238. The Buddy heater lines said “emergency indoor heating only”. Their US manuals say recreational and emergency indoor use, never unattended, so the lines now say that. |
Our correction policy
We acknowledge a reported problem within 24 hours. We fix it within 72 hours — or within 24 hours if it's a safety issue. Either way, the fix gets its own dated line above once it ships; a correction is never made quietly.

Planner
A ZIP code and five taps give you the heat load, the heater that fits, the breaker it needs, the cost per hour and the warm-up time — with every formula shown.
Shop heaters
Compare 240V electric, vented gas and diesel shop heaters by circuit, vent and CO rule, and see why a torpedo heater doesn't belong in a closed shop.
